Before Alvin arrived, I ran na 3 kilometers in 30 minutes. Ang sarap. Tagaktak ang pawis.
Do you like it?
Ako I love it!!!!
Yun lang powh =) Enjoy your coming weekend guys!
I gained weight.
As in like 8 lbs.
Okay sana if the fats went to my boobs, lalamon pa ako more, kaso hindi eh. They went to my hips, my lower abdomen and to my cheeks.
It can’t be that way so I enrolled myself sa gym sa may kanto namin.
The gym sa may kanto namin is not like any other gym sa kanto kanto. It’s a lot more soshal. It is owned and operated by my CSA batchmate and friend, Rex. It has a modest collection of machines. May mga trainers. There’s a big courtyard at the back of the gym with space for boxing, yoga and a half basketball court. Madaming pogi and magagandang naggi-gym dun. They even told me that Ali Peek goes there.
Sino nga si Ali Peek?
Never mind. He sounds famous so you get a picture na of the gym sa may kanto namin.
Anyways, I went there last Wednesday to enroll and get a trainer. Rex gave me Jun as my trainer. Jun’s one of our friends in our village.
JUN: Nana, i-train daw kita sabi ni Rex.
ME (while paying): Ay oo.
JUN: Ano ba ang gusto mo?
ME (with conviction): Gusto ko, bukas na bukas, parang ako na si Coleen Garcia!
JUN (to the cashier): Isoli mo nga ang pera nito!
Pero did you see Coleen’s body? Galing ano? She got that daw through exercise lang. She didn’t diet daw.
I can do that too.
So that day, I got to meet this ladder.
That ladder and the other things that Jun made me do that day are the causes why I walk like a newly circumcised boy for two days. Grabe the pain of every muscle I have. Pero ang sarap, I tell you. I will do it again and this is the start of my Balik Alindog Project 2015.
Uubusin ko muna lahat ng cakes and chocolates sa fridge namin para maumpisahan na yang eating healthy with exercise na yan =)
In other news, I have been seeing this chart in my Facebook page since New Year’s Day
That is a chart of how much you can save per week and how much you will have at the end of the year. You can choose from saving as small as Php 20 to Php 100 a week. The catch is that you will add this constant amount to the previous amount that you saved. The total amount will be the one that you have to put away for that week.
Check out the chart.
I plan to do the Php 100 a week challenge along with the other things that I learned from my friends and Alvin.
Una na diyan is investing money. Wowa got me na a long term investment with a life insurance from an insurance company. This year, I want to invest money for Anika. Long term investment, ganun. Ang baba kasi ng interest rate in banks sa ordinary savings account. I cannot do stocks because, like cooking, I cannot understand it. I do not want to invest naman dun sa mga high risk eklaver na yan because I have a very low risk tolerance. Kris (OC Mom in Manila) told us to open and invest in an equity fund account na lang muna. It’s easy lang daw to open an equity fund account in a bank. Kris said that an equity fund is like a time deposit. If you keep it for at least 10 years, it will definitely make you money. So, Anika’s 2014 Christmas money and all her future monetary gifts will be deposited in this equity fund account that I will be opening for her. Hanapin lang daw natin ang bank na may highest performing equity funds. Ako alam ko na where. Message niyo ako =) Hihihi.
Second, have a target amount of savings for this year and meet it. Alvin and I have been doing this for two years now. Ang saya when you meet it. And then, itatabi or i-aallot saan ilalagay: permanent savings account, tuition or our house project.
Third, since I know na for myself na isa talaga akong magastos na nilalang, I have to take note of all my gastos vs the money that I have. Alvin taught me that. Before I spend on something, I have to make sure meron akong sufficient savings. Yung tipong, even if I spend that much money, hindi magagalaw ang perang may naka-laan na. For example, we planned to go to the US on Feb this year. I wanna see and be with Arnaiz so much. However, when Alvin and I analyzed our finances, this trip would mean that we have to get from our permanent savings or from the savings we are putting away for our future house. Eh bawal yun. Magsave na lang daw muna kami more for this trip. Konti na lang naman. Kaya namin yan!
Fourth, know your priorities. I had a test on this recently lang. During the holidays last month, I was in the YSL store in EDSA Shang Mall. I had in my hands the red YSL tributes that I have been wanting to buy since forever. Yes, I have the means to pay for it now (pagipunan mo ba naman yan since 2010 eh) pero parang hindi ko maatim bilhin siya knowing that we do not own yet our own house. Parang nakaka-hiya naman na inuna ko pa ang Php 40k plus na sapatos tapos wala pa kaming sariling bahay. Di ba?
Lastly, raket lang dapat ng raket. Do not let an opportunity to earn pass because not all people are blessed with those opportunities.
So there you go. Hopefully I can maintain and not eat my words in this blog post this 2015.
Tara mga muthers!!! Kaya natin itowwwww!
Good morning guys!!!
I’m back to my Balik Alindog Project 2014. Push na push na ito mga ateng. Pero this time, my goal is not only to lose weight but also to eat healthy. Hinding hindi kasi tama what I did last year. Starvation ang ginawa ko and that’s really bad. Now, though I’m not going to eat rice again, I have to eat talaga at least 3x a day. My best recommendation is that you guys eat na lang 3 hours before you sleep. And ofcourse, nandyan na din yung exercise.
In my case, I seek the help of science.
Welcome back Thermatone!!!
I’m going to try another treatment soon. I’ll tell you about it na lang when I’ve tried it. Okidokie? =)
I just wanna share with you guys how cute my unica hija. I went home last night and eto ang sumalubong sa akin.
Napaka-arte! Manang mana sa pinagmanahan! Lol!
Kris of ocmominmanila.com commented that she looked like Rapunzel’s hairdo after the movie. I agree!!!
Also last night, I cooked mashed potato from scratch.
Yup! You read it right. From scratch =) It turned out really delicious. Hinulaan ko lang ang recipe based on what Faye told me before. Eto I’ll share with you:
CREAMY & CHEESY MASHED POTATOES
1. Boil potatoes for 20 minutes or until to a point that you can mash them. For my case, I used two regular sized potatoes.
2. Put cream, cheese and butter in one container then microwave. Last night, I used up half a box of Nestle cream, a palmful of cheese and 4 tablespoon butter.
3. Drain the potatoes and put the cream, cheese and butter then mash it with a potato masher or fork. Make sure matigas ang fork because it will have a tendency to bend kaka-mash. Add more cream, cheese and butter if you like. Put pepper and salt to taste.
I used the instant McCormick Chicken Gravy to go with it. Just add hot water and it’s done!
Anika loves it so much! Check it out:
How about you guys? Are there idiot proof recipes that you can share with us? =)
It’s been a while, again! Hahahaha! When they said that 2014 will be really busy at work, hindi pala sila nagbibiro. Hindi tuloy ako makapagblog!!! Grrrrr!!!
Anyways, I’m trying my best to post something as often as I can. Ang goal ko nga is at least one post per day. Kahit isa lang. Nilalangaw na ang mga blog posts ko sa draft folder ko. Anobayan. Pero di bale, ang important thing is that I’m still here and you’re still there and we’re all here together.
Moving on, lemme show you what I wore last Saturday. I had my doctor’s appointment and then went to the Zenutirents store in Pasig.
I have a kinda bad news with my doctor’s visit. I need to have my Glucose test daw kasi parang I have to be treated na as a Pre-DM chenes patient. They need to check if I have diabetes already because I have symptoms and my lifestyle indicates that I’m very prone to it.
Lekat na yan talaga.
Sweets mga bakla! I have to regulate my chocolates, cakes and ice cream.
Ika nga kay Arnaiz, “Can somebody shoot me now?!”
Yiz.. Ganyan ma-frustrate ang mga moyomon =D
I love you mare hihihi!
Nothing’s final naman until I have the final test results. For the meantime, lalaklakin ko lahat ng desserts sa mundong ito bago siya ipagbawal sa akin.
Well… that is after I finish my 3 day juice cleansing. I got it from Juice Ko Jo.
I’m done na with Day 1.
I’m done na with Day 2.
And I’m almost done na with Day 3!!!
No cheating yan ha!
Actually, I’m doing the juice cleansing while working. Ayaw kong himatayin ng wala sa oras (wa-poise bakla), so I eat fruits and veggies during my cleansing. Fruits, veggies and lots and lots of water. Ang maganda in this juicing is that I take it at 8am, 10am, 12noon, 3pm and 6pm. The juice is very filling. Pagfeel ko na-hungry na ako, I see that it’s already time for me to drink another bottle. Galing.
Ang sarap ng feeling. My tummy’s a lot smaller and I feel lighter. Though I pee a lot during the day, I’m happy that I’m doing this healthy juice cleansing. I needed it so bad after all the fats and cholesterol intake that I did during the holidays. I gained 8 pounds remember? Eto ang pang jumpstart ko sa Balik Alindog Project 2014 ko. The best part there, Juice Ko Jo is affordable at Php 1,000 per day. This includes two tea and 5 bottles of juices.
I don’t feel hungry that often anymore.
Exercise galore na after. That’s what my doctor said too. I have to exercise A LOT daw. With my lifestyle (not eating properly and on time, stress, mahilig sa sweets), I have to make sure I exercise often.
Here’s what I wore pala yesterday
And you know today?
My Turnover Group surprised me with a cake and gifts kanina in our meeting!
Hehehe. I thought wala nang partey na ganyan because it’s been almost 2 weeks already since my birthday. Hindi na ako nagexpect. I’m so happy because I got surprised!!!! It’s a feat because mahirap masurprise ang isang napaka-assuming na tao tulad ko.
Please don’t mind my haggard fez in the photo above. Hihihihi. Patapos na kasi ang araw niyan. Naka-quota na ang freshness sa akin. Iniwan na niya ako.
To my Turnover Group: Thank you so much!!! I love you guys talaga!
You guys know about my Bohol trip this month with the hubby right? We will be staying at one of the beautiful resorts in Panglao. The beach in Panglao is very, very beautiful. Nakakahiya naman kung magtwo piece ako dun na hindi fit ang body ko. Dapat bati ang two piece ko and ang katawang lupa ko. Otherwise, hindi babagay sa background. Lol.
I have been exercising. Alam niyo na din yan. However, I feel that I need more help in losing weight pa.
Luckily I discovered the Detox-in-a-Bottle by Nadine Tengco.
Nadine Tengco is a US Certified Fitness Nutrintionist who designed the Detox-in-a-Bottle. The program was initially developed in 2009 for Nadine’s celebrity clients who were always in some weight loss “quick fix scheme” that often destroyed their metabolism. Nadine used to customize and prepare all the juices and soups for her clients but the demand grew bigger than she could handle. Today, the juices and soups are standardized and prepared by her partners and distributors.
What is Detox-in-a-Bottle?
“Detox-in-a-Bottle is a cleansing “kit” of fresh juices and soups rich in plant enzymes and phytonutrients. The phytonutrients and antioxidants in the vegetable cleansing soups and detox juices stimulate flushing that reduces oedema, cellular inflammation, and bloating.”
It has two kinds:
I got the Cleanse Formula. Before starting the cleansed, I read about it first. Ayaw ko kasi yung mga chemicals chenes na yan. I was happy because everything was natural. Blended drinks — veggies and fruits. Gow.
The night before the day I started, this insulated bag with the bottles and soup was delivered at home:
It came with instructions on how and when I’m supposed to drink it. Ganitech yun:
8am – Bottle 1: Energy Blast
10am- Bottle 2: Chili Lemongrass with Ground Flax
12noon – Soup with 1 digestive enzyme tablet: The soup differs per day. My favorite was the pumkin soup.
2pm – Bottle 3: Kidney Cleanse
4pm – Bottle 4: Liver Detox
6pm – Bottle 5: Gingerade
8pm – Bottle 6: Salad in a bottle
No solids for the entire three days. You have to drink 8 oz of distilled water after each drink. Just a reminder, you have to refrigerate the juices agad then put it back in the bag so that you can bring it to the office.
The next day, I went on with my normal day. Kung ano ginagawa ko sa isang araw at the office, hindi ko binago.
I was very excited to start the cleanse. In three days, I will see na agad the results!
The first bottle was the Energy Blast.
It was delicious. Actually, it’s my favorite amongst the 6 bottles. It tasted like bananas.
After drinking the first bottle, I placed all the other bottles in our pantry refrigerator to chill it.
Surprisingly, I felt full after drinking that bottle of juice. I became hungry na two hours after which was just in time for me to drink the Chili Lemonade with ground flax. To tell you the truth mothers, this variant was the hardest for me to drink. I don’t like chili kasi eh. Pero alam niyo naman ako, I will drink anything (basta safe and healthy) para lang pumayat. Lol.
The juices tasted really natural. Lasang lasa mo yung ginger, lemonade, fruits and vegetables. To be exact, the ingredients used for these detox juices and soups are: lemongrass, ginger, cilantro, basil, parsley, tarragon, spinach, wheatgrass, banana, pineapple, papaya, lemon, cinnamon, turmeric, cloves, cayenne, stevia, pumpkin, bell pepper.
Healthy di ba?
Here are some of the observations I had during the three day cleanse.
1. On the first day, I felt the fatigue. I didn’t eat any solids eh. In the evening, my head was aching also. These reactions are called healing crises. These are caused by temporarily increased levels of toxins in the body due to elimination and cleansing. These symptoms are not serious and will quickly pass. Totoo naman. After I rested, the next day, okay na ako ulit. I felt lighter already. The second day was not as hard as the first one. I was able to go through my working days.
2. I pee’d a lot. Nothing changed with my bowel movement pero I realized that I kept on going to the toilet to pee. Normal daw yun.
3. I asked if I can eat something paghindi ko na talaga kaya. They said that I can eat daw konting preservative free rice crackers. These can be bought at healthy options.
4. You have to make sure that you drink a lot of distilled water during the three day cleanse.
5. After the third day, I felt very light. I weighed myself and found out that I lost 3 lbs na agad in that three days. Then parang hindi ako nakuntento, I weighed myself again after two days, ayun na nga, I lost 5 lbs all in all. Boom. Ang galing right?!
I recommend this 3 day cleanse to you guys. However, you have to check with you doctor if you have a chronic health problems. Pregnant and lactating women should also abstain from this cleanse.
The Weight Loss Formula costs Php 2,500 per day while the Cleanse Formula costs Php 2,000 per day.
To order, you can email them at firstname.lastname@example.org or call them at +63917-5556479.
Gorabelles na yan! This can surely help you with your “Balik-Alindog” Project!
|I love this rosary that my friend gave me. This now hangs on my car’s rear view mirror.|
|Outfit of the day: Top from Greenhills, Mango pants and Janilyn wooden wedges.|
Super pretty right? Thanks Nangnang Faye!
That’s me on your left, by the way. I look like Anika ano? =)
Love it! =)
Good night guys!
Wowa visited Anika today. We’re going home na daw tomorrow, by the way. Thank God. I really don’t like hospitals. I have been sleeping on the hospital bed beside Anika for two nights now. The hypochondriac in me feels sick tuloy. I haven’t stopped LBM-ing since Thursday night. Okay lang papayat naman ako. Choz =)
Anyways, Wowa put nail polish on the grouchy Anika kanina.
Bati na sila after niyan.
WOWA: Hay naku Anika. Sayo ko lang ginawa ito. Miski Nanay mo, hindi ko nalagyan ng nail polish!
Well, talagang ganun. There are things that you do talaga for your granddaughter. And that makes me happy already =)
Earlier this evening, Zac (Anika’s bestfriend) called Anika up. Ang cute nila magusap.
According to Ching (Zac’s mommy), ganito daw sila:
ANIKA: I’m at the doctor Zac! Because I’m sick!
ZAC: You’re okay Anika! It’s okay Anika!
How adorable is that?! =) Hay. Sana Zac and Anika will be able to read this when they’re older. They’ll have something to laugh at! Hahaha!
I have a kilig moment kanina. One of my CSA batchmate messaged me kanina in FB.
So there you go. That’s what I have been doing these past few months kaya I lost 10 lbs.
Let’s go. Get your own “Balik Alindog Project” =)
But wait ha? I’m not telling you guys na magpapayat ng bongga. Weight is just a number. It’s all about feeling good about yourself no matter what number comes out of that darn weighing scale. It’s all about being healthy. As long as you feel sexy and confident of yourself, keber sa mga bilbils!!! =) Tandaan niyo ito: You should exercise because that is healthy for you. You would want to look good because of yourself not because of what other people will think about you.
Period. No erase.
Ma-mention ko lang, my engagement ring fits me already!
After that, I went to Ortigas for the BYS make up session with the SoMoms. It was so bongga! I’ll tell you about it also later =) Here are some photos from the event.
I love their make up because it felt so light on my face and hindi nangati yung skin ko. They taught us how to do a No Make Up Look. Thanks to Eli of The Painter’s Wife, na-achieve ko ang look na yun! =)
Thank you so much BYS Philippines. I love the make up that you gave us!
One thing that I also love is this Aqueduck gadget from Babies to Toddlers. Anika washes her hands tuloy every five minutes because of it! =D
OMG. Todo na talaga ang “Balik Alindog Project” ko.
Dapat magkasundong magkasundo kami ng mga swimsuits ko by May.
Wish me luck guys? =)
Have a nice day!
